FAQs

Core Philosophy and Origins

  1. What is special about Wildwyn products? Every Wildwyn product is crafted to be natural, effective, and sustainably sourced. We harness the power of insects, botanicals, and nature’s own cycles to create high-performance feeds and care-solutions that support your animals, plants, and the environment.

  2. Where are your products made? Our products are formulated in the UK and use ingredients sourced responsibly from both local and international partners. We work with sustainable farms, ethical manufacturers, and eco-conscious suppliers to ensure every Wildwyn product meets our high standards.

  3. Are your ingredients sustainable and cruelty-free? Yes. Wildwyn is proudly rooted in sustainability. Many of our ingredients, such as black soldier fly protein, are sourced from upcycled food-waste streams . We never test on animals, and every product is cruelty-free by design.

Professional Estates and Game-Bird Management

  1. How does Nest & Meadow improve retention for pheasants and partridges? Nest & Meadow provides a natural, puffed whole-dried larvae supplement that mimics the wild-insect diet game-birds instinctively seek. For pheasants, red-leg partridges, english-partridges and other game-birds these strong attractant qualities help keep birds focused on specific feed-points around the estate, which significantly improves retention around. By encouraging natural foraging behaviour, the product also reduces stress, feather-pecking, and aggression in rearing environments.

  2. What are the specific nutritional benefits for game-birds? Our Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae are nutritionally optimised for avian development:

  • Growth and Feathering: They contain approximately 40% protein with essential amino acids to support body-mass, plumage, and post-moult recovery.

  • Immunity: They are rich in functional fats, including lauric-acid (C12), a natural antimicrobial that supports gut-health and immune-resilience .

  • Skeletal Strength: They provide highly digestible calcium (2.5% to 3.0%) and phosphorus for bone-strength and egg-production in breeding-stock.

Regenerative Agriculture and Soil Health

  1. What makes Root & Rise superior to standard compost or fertilizers? Root & Rise is a 100% bioactive organic insect-frass that contains up to double the organic nutrients of ordinary compost or vermicast. With a premium organic NPK of approximately 5:2:2, it is rich in humic and fulvic acids that enhance root-growth and increase the speed of bioavailable nutrient-uptake .

  2. How does insect frass stimulate plant immunity? The product contains natural insect-chitin, which triggers a plant's natural defence mechanism known as Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR). This biological trigger activates the plant's own defenses, making it naturally more resilient against common pathogens and environmental stress .

Conservation and Aquaculture

  1. Can Brook & Hollow be used as a bulk ingredient for wild-bird feed manufacturing? Yes. Brook & Hollow is designed as a premium bulk-ingredient for manufacturers seeking to upgrade seed-mixes, suet-balls, and fat-blocks. It offers a scalable and lower-carbon alternative to mealworms while providing over thirty-times more digestible calcium .

  2. Is your larvae suitable for professional aquaculture and fish-farms? Our BSF larvae offer a natural balance of proteins and fats that are highly palatable for various aquatic species . The high digestibility and nutrient-density make it a versatile solution for fish-farms looking for sustainable, insect-based protein-sources that support overall health.
